Is it bad to sent out applications without a Personal statement? I want to make some last minute changes but don't want to miss-out on the September 1st download... Will ERAS send my pseronal statement to programs or will they have to go to ERAS to get it?

How does the September 1 deadline work well? Do I need to submit by 5pm so programs can download me today or is it just good to have "submitted: 9/1/06" in their mailbox?
