Yep.

With all their bandwagon fans and crazy payrolls, I was very glad to see the spankees, bosox, and the damn braves get kicked out in the first round.

Sorry Driverabu, I'm with Rizzo.

Nice, I see you're a TOOL fan. Check out the Aenima CD inside:

The anesthetic state produced does not fit into the conventional classification of stages of anesthesia, but instead produces a state of unconsciousness which has been termed "dissociative" anesthesia in that it appears to selectively interrupt association pathways to the brain before producing somesthetic sensory blockage. In contrast to other anesthetics, protective reflexes, such as coughing and swallowing are maintained under anesthesia.

It goes on. Have you read it?

My favorite is the Futants, the genetic types identified by Timothy Leary.

THE ANGELS WERE ROBBED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

yeah; tough call. It looked to me like the home plate ump called him out after the "strikeout". Bummer.

dc

Those guys can make the call for a check swing, why not for a ball in the dirt? I didn't get to hear Joe Buck's explanation as it was season premier of One Tree Hill and my boss (wife) had control of the remote.

The umps really screwed that one up. The best umps don't have an impact on the game. They are nearly invisible. These guys are a joke. He rings him up (the fist in the air) and then lets him run to first. Whats that s h i t?

I was kind of ridiculous. He called the guy out TWICE. He rung him up right after the swing and then again before the catcher tossed the ball to the mound. Then the runner goes to first and he changes his mind?? I would have loved to hear what he said about that.

That being said: GO ASTROS!!

It was a very close call.

I missed it live though, and just saw the replay after someone mentioned it. Probably not quite the same.

But, if an umpire pumped his fist or signaled in a similar way after the first pitch to a batter was delivered, would you assume the batter was out? No way, right? The umpire can, and i think is, arguing that he was a signaling a strike, not an out.

Not when it is the 3rd strike. When the 3rd strike occurs the umpire will also pump his fist just as he did with the first two strikes except when the batter swings and misses a ball in the dirt. At that time the umpire will make no motion or call until the batter is out by being tagged or thrown out. If the batter didn't swing then it ain't a strike cause it hit the dirt and therefore a BALL. The "no call" after a batter swings at a ball in the dirt is how the rest of the fielders know to stay put and wait for the out by tag or throw. Now in this instance the fielders were running off the field because the call was made. Every ump has his own way of calling strikes. Some verbalize as well as use hand signals and others barely verbalize at all. This ump make the same call he had been making every pitch all game long. He screwed up, but hey I am for the Sox anyway. But not this way.

I love the baseball enthusiasm on this site now.

This play definitely goes into the category of Bartman, Buckner, and the tuck rule. But, just like the other plays, it was not the sole event that led to the eventual loss.

It is not Bartman's fault that the Cubs' pitchers couldn't get anybody out after the foul ball.

It was Bob Stanley and Calvin Schiraldi's ineffective and wild pitching that allowed the Mets to even be in the position to win the game at point. The Sox could still have won the seventh game and noone would really remember the Buckner play.

If the Raiders' defense didn't allow the Pats offense to go throught them like a hot knife through butter in OT, they could have won.

Who knows... the Angels still may have lost the game in the later innings, and if you give up a run with two outs with a man on first, it is your own fault because you obviously threw a bad pitch that got creamed.

The good teams overcome this type of adversity. Let's hope that both series go seven games.

I would just like to say the Cardinals are going to get it done this year. For you sports gambles out there Vegas picked the Cards as HEAVY favorites for a reason.

Also, TOOL is one of the best bands of their time!

Pujols is the MAN.
That was a BOMB.
I had already opened the celebtration beer for a sure astros victory. I drank the beer anyway.

That was F-ing amazing. As a cardinals fan, I lost faith with 2 outs in the 9th. I will never doubt the cardinals or Phat Albert again!!! Is baseball messing with anyone else life. Im on an away anesthesia rotation at USC and I cant get any studying done. Damn baseball and my lack of motivation 😡

Go Astros 👍

I was AT the infamous game! I started crying right there in my seat 2 seconds after jumping up and down and going crazy because "we were about to go to world series" Damn Pujoles. It was a great hit though, I'll have to give him that. Anyway...it didn't matter...we're going anyways...

GO 'STROS!
