anybody tried reading bates for boards to get more clinical info?

It would help for the ICD shelf, but not much for the step when more efficient methods are available (as CptCrunch mentioned).

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD STEP 1 IS NOT CLINICAL.
Do not wait until "after medicine" to take step 1. Do not think that learning clinical stuff will help you.
Boards are stupid and artificial, asking stupid and artificial questions, requiring you to think stupidly and artificially. To do well on the Boards does not equate to knowing medicine, your ability to practice, your ability to treat, or anything else. Its bull**** recall and your ability to take a Multiple Choice Test. Stick with what it is, learn first aid, practice MC questions on Qbank and UWorld.
