Am I cheap? No... well, sometimes. But if I can get this book for $50 off the price and its ok to do, then I'm cool with that. If not, screw it, I'll pony up the loan money. FML jk, my life is pretty rad.

Thanks! 😀

or better yet buy an old edition. you can get the 9th for $25 on half.com or the 8th for $9 on amazon. last year i used the 8th edition and it was nearly identical (even page number were really close) to the 10th.

Def older edition. Biggest problem will be finding the right pages but I think you'll be able to handle it.

Bates is a nursing book. Stay away from it. It's below the level required for medicine.

Buy Talley and O'Connor.

I didn't bother buying the book because our intro to clinical skills is too basic for that book anyway not to mention our library has a copy with the online access to the ebook.

I maaayyyybbbbbeee opened that book once. Most of my friends still have there's in the plastic. Don't you have better things to waste your money on?

The way one performs a PE doesn't change from year to year.... (does it?)

Knicks- It might if old techniques are proven ineffective, better techniques are uncovered, or equipment improves. I doubt a couple years makes much of a difference though.

Bates is a decent reference and the patient's expressions can be pretty amusing, but if you find a better reviewed CS book get that. It's a little disorganized but you can usually find what you want to know. Being a good practitioner starts with good clinical skills. It's definitely imperative to have a book so you can check your technique as you are learning to do physical exam.

Yeah, that's what I meant.

Dont' buy it! I'm a PA student and thought it was too basic for us...definately too basic for you guys!
