The thing that comforts me going into this profession is that we're [hopefully] surrounding ourselves with like-minded, empathetic people who have the capacity for working well with others from all walks of life and identifying what is unique about each of them. This is not only a characteristic that is useful to have as a human being, but especially in the healthcare professions. You have unique things that you bring to the table and hopefully your classmates will see that.

I am very slow to learn and was slow in labs and everything during PT school, but did just fine. Our lab exams were often timed and I went out of the time limit only once. I did not notice anyone was annoyed with me being slow. Your classmates will likely be nice and helpful peers vs annoyed haters 🙂. People in PT school tend to help each other out, so if for whatever reason your lab partner does get annoyed with you, just switch to another one. Again, there will be much more nice people in your class than a** h***s.
I did feel that I was too slow for many group lab projects and did not participate in those much (just hanging around). Instead, I studied at home at my own pace which was much more beneficial for me. If you want to be quicker in labs, what helped me was studying/practicing the material BEFORE the lab. In this case, you will be familiar with what's going on whereas it all will be new for your lab partners, so your pace will be closer to theirs.

Thank you! Very helpful!

My PT class is also small with 38 students. Being a minority, I experienced a lot of discrimination. My classmates tend to make up BS excuses not to be in my group, i was very depress and sad every time theres a group project and i have to asked/begged my professor to put me in a group. During my 3rd year, I came into a realization that i can only depend on myself and willing to do a solo project if possible.
