Program-Specific Info / Q's Bay Path

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
I heard back about three weeks ago! I sent Maggie an updated transcript from last semester then received the email a few days later

I was accepted in January, but after a lot of thinking, I will be attending too!

That's awesome. Where are you from? It's a brand new area for me, as I'm from NYC. Anyone know where they plan to live yet? I just got the acceptance a few days ago and don't know where to begin with the process of getting started.

I am currently in the Bay Path OT program. If any of you have questions let me know.

Thanks for putting yourself out there, I have a few questions.
How do you like the location?
Are there any good places to hike?
What kind of research opportunities are there?
What's it like having a class size of 100+?

1. It's a quiet and boring city. But PERFECT STUDY environment.

2. I like it. It is boring but very pretty to look at.

3. There are PLENTY of places to hike. Lots of mountains and hiking trails.

4.You have a research class where you choose your topic and conduct a research. You pick your research and find the population to survey. Does that count? What specifically do you mean?

5. We do not have 100+ students to a class. We are split up into 3 sections. So there are about 40-50 ish to a class. Then you have your lab sections split into 13-15 people who are from your section.

I'll take trails over nightlife, so that's good.

More specifically about the research, I'm curious how it's emphasized in the program, is the research class for one semester or two? Does anybody try to get their project published?

And since the incoming class of 2018 will be split into 3 groups, do those groups all stick together through classes so it's kind of like 3 cohorts at once?

Research is for 2 semester. Yes, some people do try to get theirs published. Yes, they stick together through the whole program.

Is anyone that is starting and attending Bay Path this year in need of a roommate? Please email me or give me your email in case you are 🙂
