Baylor Class of 2007

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
hey naveen,

ya i dont think there should be much problem getting into lanesborough. its got really good location and the indoor half-court thing is kind of cool. im going for the smallest single floor plan. which one is h? is it a single or double? i think its more expensive then some apartments, esp the ones on holcombe, but the location and the age of the place makes up for it.

so im new to this whole thing, where are u from? what school, home town etc...

Hi classmates!
THANKS SO MUCH! I am so excited to be starting school in July! I can't wait! Working sucks! It's so long btw 9-12 and then it's even longer btw 1-5. No wonder people snack when they start working! 🙂
So I got so excited that I signed at the Maroneal. 2/2 and it's a FREAKING 1400 a month. AHHHHHHHHH! But at least the medical center shuttle is only a block away.
So does anyone else know where they are going to sign a lease?
SEE YOU ALL VERY SOON!

When class starts, maybe we can have a little guessing game type thing to see if we can figure out everyone's SD.net alternate identities, lol 😀

Sweet. I'll be the one sporting the mohawk, the AC/DC t-shirt, and the spiked choker. 😎

Wait....Wait..... No I won't.

LOL, no matter what, you always have people like that in your class from what I hear from other current med students. Some must really let it all hang out after interviews are over.

Did you guys see the exciting FLASH intro for the resort that our Orientation is going to be at? Check it out:

Chain-O-Lakes Resort

haha thats pretty classy

It actually doesn't look too shabby.

i agree, i thnk the place we are gong to spend the first day of orientation and the place of the picnic are pretty nice......should be fun and relaxing, so everyone can meet each other

haah....definitely...😉

Don't forget the potential for random hook-ups that will undoubtable be regretted promptly after orientation week.😀

Yeah, but where else other than Med School is that thing not only accepted, but where groping is also semi-required.

hahahaha thats funny

Ok I've got a question.
Does anyone know how flexible this "10 months of whatever you want" time really is? I mean, I remember someone saying that people take time off to study for step 1, people take vacations, the whole class goes on a cruise... crazy stuff like that. What's the catch?

I was starting to get a little bumbed out about our summer break being only 1 month, but then I remembered our 10 free months thing. What's the skinny on it?

from what i understood at the interview, its anytime during the third or fourth yeras.....i dotn think you can use it during the 2nd semester of 2nd year which i think are the required rotations......not sure the catch though.....i wondered that too......maybe so we do relaly well and get our top residencies and they can attract students?........i'm sure its more than that, but that's my guess

does anyone know a lot about this insurance we are required to get? i was looking at the class of 2007 website, and it says that waivers are rarely granted, and so we would have to pay a premium of $164.74 monthly?! if someone could please educate me, i would greatly appreciate it!

I don't know, but I was looking at Unicare's website and the plans that they offer seem pretty schitty to me. Unless it's only supposed to be catastrophe insurance.

Something like $30 copays for the first 4 office visits, and you pay 25% of all labs/surgeries/procedures etc. And that's supposed to be the good part. 🙁

Hey guys, just got back from a week in Sunny Puerto Vallarta, Mexico (had to throw that in 😀 ) Just wanted to bump this back to the top.

hi everyone!! is anybody getting ready to move anytime soon? i'm moving in less than three weeks, and i'm kinda freaking out....

hope you all are having a great summer!

I'm hoping to move around the 7th or the 8th, but we're still trying to get ahold of the guys who said they'd help us move. I won't be sure until we've heard back from them. Oh and my summer's going great. Just got back into town from vacation, and now I'm about to have to go to Lubbock for a friends wedding. Of course that means partying and what not in excess! Hope everyone else is having a great time.

Well, today is officially my last day in College Station, as of Monday my new local address will be Houston. Good luck to everyone else moving.

have fun moving in, see you in a month

Did anyone who is starting this year participate in the SMART Program?

Just got to Houston today!!!
T-minus 3 days and counting!!

Welcome to H-town.

baylor is a great school and i would give my left arm to go there. anyone know of a non-texas, non miniority with an average mcat getting into to baylor?

Well Baylor does out of state admitions slightly different from the other Texas schools since it is a private institution. It doesn't have to accept the 90% from in state, so you have that going for you. But it is still highly competitive, so you never know.

Someone's excited. 😉

Hey, I'm starting medical school.... I gotta live it up!!

Now we get to think and wonder who everyone was these past two days...
