only in SDN it jumped over the roof.

It's about the same for San Antonio...they gave us the 2006 class stats during their presentation.

OK, here's my thoughts on the DAT scores and SDNers.

Through out the years, only 2~3 people gets above AA of 26, so if you've hit around 26 or 27 i am sure you have one of top notch DAT scores.
From AA 23~25 which ever version of DAT you took, that means you've hit 98th or 99th percentile. I am assuming not more than 30~50 students hit this high. So which ever dental school you get into, you are one of the top 15 guys for sure.

From 21~22 (above about 94 percentile) the rest, maximum of 200~400 students hit this high.
I know MCAT scores are measured differently, but AA 21~22 in DAT is almost as highly valued as hitting over 35 on the MCAT.

Even with high number of applicant number increasing each year, it doesn't double in a year. It has been steadily increasing about 10% each year the most.

I mean, we all took different versions of the DAT exams. To hit above 90th percentile, except for "naturally born smarties" we've all studied our ass off.

Depending on your question types, you might have done better/worse on your real DAT. The dental school adcoms know how guessing 1 or 2 questions right made a huge difference (1~5 points difference in all sections between all of us who studied our ass off.)

Now, here's my conclusion.

When I assume all the DAT scores posted here on the forum by SDNers are
true, you all are simply amazing. Here's a group of smartest DAT test takers.
Which means that,
A. Either all the SDNers who are posting crazy scores are from nations 1st-300th guys on the DAT score.
B. Some people are definitely lying about their scores.

No matter who reads my post, don't freak out with all the SDNers scores, because i know many dental schools still value scores of 20+ as their above average score or even an outstanding one.

Yeap, i know i used to freak out a lot more by posts here, but i am slowly
calming myself down.

You will make it if you work hard enough for your goal, as long as you don't give up your dream..
Everybody, good luck on your dental schools.
And I needed it too.

as always love ya all~~~ 😍

I just want to hit ya with some math.

I remember the numbers 11,000 and 4,500 being the total applicants and number of available spots.

Meaning that my 21 AA with a percentile rank of 92.2 shows that 858 kids did better than me. Thats a lot.

And it means that you need to be in the top 60% of applicants to make it.

???

Thats it? Top 60%? Thats around a 17 ~ 18.

So there is it. Don't worry about being better than the kid with the 26 AA and 24 PA. Worry about being better than the kid with the 17 ~ 18.

You know what they say:
You don't have to run faster than the bear, just faster than your slowest friend.

kind of weird, but when i click on the predents link in your message, it opens the predents profile, but has me as lucass11 with the capabilities of opening updating whosever profile that is. I don't even know who lucass11 is. does this happen to anybody else. Not a big deal, except for lucass11 profile could be screwed with if someone wanted to

illustrator is somewhat right with the math, and this kind of thing applies to all schools. Many people doubt some scores that people get of 26+, but I never did simply because of how illustrator explained it. I also think a large reason why many SDNers have good DAT scores is because of all the useful information they can get from this site. I never would have been able to have so many questions answered about every section on the DAT. Also, I never would have known about Schaums, DAT Achiever, or Topscore. If it wasn't for SDN, I doubt many others would know about these materials either, which I think definitely helped them to get such amazing scores. I totally envy all of those guys, but like Chuck1441 said, don't compare to those guys, compare yourself to other 19-20s. Also, many people don't take the time to look at sites like SDN. It seems like most of the people on this site are competitive in some way and are great motivators for the rest of us.

Not at all true. That's only true if everybody applies to every school. Nobody does, so the math doesn't hold up.
