This seems to be a pretty unpopular topic, and after hours of research, I’ve found that there’s very little advice out there on how to effectively pass the BCCCP exam. So, I wanted to put this post out there in the hopes that anyone who has passed—or is currently studying—can share their advice. Hopefully, this thread will be helpful for others looking to get certified in the future!

I’ll start:
I’m planning to take the BCCCP in summer 2025.
I have 7 years experience in medical ICU and over a decade in hospital setting

Study Materials I Have So Far:

  • High-Yield BCCCP – Based on online courses. Honestly, I’m not too impressed since it feels pretty basic.
    • Q Bank & Biostats – Haven’t touched these yet, but I’ve heard they can be really helpful.
I’m open to any advice! If you’ve taken the exam or are currently studying for it, I’d love to hear about your experience and what worked for you. Let’s help each other out!

-High Yield is growing on me. I'm starting to appreciate the very basic understanding of all diseases.
-I will continue to reply to this own thread for more updated info

My own personal opinion here but I took the BCCCP earlier this year and missed it by 2 points. I used high yield med reviews BCCCP review course and I have to say that it was severely lacking in a lot of ways. It can be decent if you have a solid background in a variety of ICU settings, but the course alone is not enough. BCCCP is a generalized critical care cert, and high yield is lacking in pretty much every critical care area except medical ICU.
