What are your thoughts on TB testing in an international school setting (Bangladesh)? Our kids come from 40 different countries and most have had BCG. We currently require TB testing every two years and those who have had BCG have the option of skin test, CXR, or physical exam.

I worked in TB for a while and my advice is this: seek out your public health organization for accurate advice given the relatively high prevalence of TB in Bangladesh.

Research BCG vaccine--you'll learn that it's not efficatious for an entire lifetime, and that in the US, the policy is to treat with INH regardless of BCG status if the person is PPD. I think PPD is the quickest, most sensible way to screen for TB. Also, the quantiferon test is now out, but not available in all labs.

good luck.
