HI,

I was wondering if MCB (Molecular and Cellular Biology) 498 counts as BCMP. I will be doing research in this field. thanks!!

any course offered by the Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Math departments count toward your BCPM GPA

OK thanks, but maybe I should clear up my situation a little:
I will be doing research in the psychiatry deparmtent, but the course will be MCB498 since I am majoring in MCB and doing the MCB498 for my senior thesis. Still count as BCMP?? THANKS!!

well since I am unfamiliar with the nomenclature of how your school classifies courses I have no idea what MCB is. If that is the Math, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology department classification, then it's BCPM. I think AMCAS will accept other courses like Statistics from the Statistics department as BCPM. They may take your MCB498 as BCPM if it's "sciency" enough. You'd have to check with them.

As long as that course is a bio, phys, chem, or math, it will be BCPM. I took a biochem course and a statistics courses that were offered by the Kinesiology department, and AMCAS still classified them as BCPM courses.
