🙁 so my marks are verified and I know I should be happy but I feel absolutely horrible because all my courses that should be categorized as Biology were changed to Other Science..
which makes my BCP GPA only a 2.9..
where it really should be 3.6 if not higher!!

is anyone on the same boat as me? 🙁🙁🙁
SIGH!!

doesnt bcp stand for Biology Chemistry and Physics?

Yeah, which classes were not classified as BCP that you thought should be. I know you can call or email AADSAS if there's something that you think is misclassified and they'll review it, so all hope is not lost.

It is a unreasonable AADSAS policy, but everyone is playing by the same rules. They calculate BCP by the course prefixes, not course content. For example, exercise physiology under Kinesiology or pharmacology under Nursing would be considered as "Other Science" while medical terminology or ethics taught in the BIO department would be considered as "BCP".

For anyone wondering (I asked the same question and they gave me the same answer about the header...):

TAships (if you were a teaching assistant) and independent study, as long as they have the prefix BIO before them, are considered biology.

Just a random insert of knowledge you may or may not have already had.

My GPA/transcripts were verified today and I had 2 errors on it regarding classification. I called/emailed them and explained why they should be counted in BCP and they changed it within an hour.

In my case, there were 2 courses clearly offered by the chemistry and physics department by my university and they made a mistake. If the classes you think were misclassified were offered by biology, chemistry, or physics department, you should contact them ASAP.

What classes didn't they consider bcp?

classes such as :

Pharmacology 1 & 2
Head & Neck Anatomy
Oral Medicine
and my list goes on and on
just because the prefix doesnt have BIOL..or CHEM..or PHYS..

I just hope the schools will recognize this and understand that I can in face do well in biology courses even though the calculated BCP said otherwise!🙁🙁

🙁 that doesn't make any sense!
I don't know why they have to do it this way..
just like you stated..ethics taught in bio department versus pharmacology under nursing..you would think pharmacology belongs more to bio!
How are the schools suppose to really know whether we are good at BCP courses if the courses are classified based on the PREFIX instead of its content? :scared: SIGH
