My situation:
I'm entering my third year as a psychology major at a respected university that is famous (regionally, atleast) for grade deflation. My school awards highest honors to people with a 3.5 overall, which I qualify for...
I entered college thinking I wanted to be a clinical psychologist, and so I'm a little behind on my pre-reqs, and won't be taking the MCAT until my senior year (Fall '11).
BCPM GPA: 3.1
Non-Sci: 3.94
Overall: 3.61
I still have not taken Orgo I&II, or Physics I&II, but I ran the calculations and assuming I take no other sciences besides that the required pre-reqs and make all As, my BCPM maxes out at 3.4.
I know a sciGPA of 3.0-3.4 is very low, but is it too low? To my understanding, science GPA is obviously (usually) weighted more heavily than non-science, but would my non-science make up for it at all?
I have done a year's worth of psychological research (~360hrs) (publication unlikely at my school)
I've shadowed a 3 different doctors.
I spend about 4hrs/week as a DJ at my college radio station.
If a similar situation has been posted recently, I'm sorry, I wasn't able to find it...please direct me to the post.
Thank you!
