I thought my bcpm ranged around a 3.5 until i entered all my grades into an amcas gpa calculator.
now my bcpm gpa is a freaking 3.1!!! apparently my school doesn't incorporate any f's into their science gpa calculation...
can a single F (worth 5 credit hours) really bring down my gpa by a whopping .4 points?? 😱

Well, at least you don't have multiple Fs to deal with as some do.

why not retake that class and have it averaged? just make an A...

do you understand that that statement kinda makes no sense?

yes unfortunately it can. you failed an entire science class. the GPA may not be your only struggle here though... most schools will ask you why you failed the class. was it because of an extenuating circumstance?

yeah, like 6 of them. (2 being 4 credit hour classes) On the bright side, If I continue my trend and "A" the rest of the way, I'll have an AMCAS of 3.27 and AAMCOS of 3.91 (gotta love retakes). Either way my science GPA will be 4.0 (luckily I had not taken any science classes back in my slacker years.)

SIDE NOTE: 5 F's were for a semester I left and they said that I did not withdraw from classes properly, so 5 F's instead of 5 W's

It's good to see that you found the path to redemption.
