Hi everyone,

I am considering to take BCPS next year. For those who already took the exams, I am wondering the followings:

1. Which specialty should I choose? Just general pharmacotherapy or critical care or ...? Which one is easier/harder and in more demand in job market?
2. Which materials did you study for your BCPS? Any prep course you take ?
3. Any tips for the exams? Content wise, etc..

Thanks so much.

1. Your current job will dictate your specialty. If you spend > 50% of your time in crit care, go for BCCCP; otherwise, catch all would be BCPS.
2. I used the ACCP modules exclusively + a random stats book for review
3. I pretty much crammed for a week before the test and passed, but if you're out of practice or are a bad test taker, you probably will have to put more time in. You know yourself best. I had a colleague take it cold and they passed.

I went to a weekend prep for 2 days before ASHP midyear. Totally worth it.

For BCPS I just used the ACCP modules and emphasized stats

For BCCCP I took the review course at SCCM (highly recommend) which came with ACCP modules and emphasized the practice areas I don't see much.

ACCP has "flip card" apps for the most of the exams. I actually found it to be really high yield to do a question or 3 in line at the grocery store etc. it's spendy, but makes it not an ordeal to study.

I keep pretending like I'm going to study for the BCPPS exam. I even have a little notebook and all of the official study material on my laptop. If only I could bring myself to open those PDFs.

Anyone use the audio and find it particularly helpful?

I totally identify with this. I think once I register maybe spending the $600 will motivate me?

I am planning to take BCCCP soon. Any suggestions for the statistics portion. Is it similar to bcps in terms of the type of questions asked and weightage? I do have the accp material from 2016. Would that be enough?
