Be careful to request official scores for DAT retakers

I took my DAT this April and August and requested the official score report to be sent to dental schools second day after my second test. I also requested to send one copy to myself because I had thought it is free. Anyway, it cost me 25 bucks and surprisingly I found out that only my first test score is listed in the report. I called ADA and they told me that when I fill out the request form on-line, I should request SCORE FOR THE FUTURE TEST 😡because it takes 3-4 weeks to process my score!!! How ridiculous it is! I already took the test and I still need to request score for future test!😡😡😡 I argued with her but she is really unfriendly. She finally transferred my call to her manager. I left a voice mail to her manager . let's see what will happen.
So, be careful when you request score report if you retook the DAT. I would never know dental school only received my first score if I did not request a copy.

Yes, do this at once! Hopefully you can correct it if it did happen to you.

This exact thing happened to me as well....I ended up calling ADA and told them my situation. Although it took 2 days to be able to talk to someone who could do something, they told me that I need to fax or email a request which includes my situation and exactly which schools i sent the scores to and when i did that....after that someone gave me a call and said that they saw my request and that the scores were sent to all the schools i listed on the letter....for FREE! so make sure you call them and tell them the situation....if they dont listen then get the fax number or address and send them a letter.....im sure someone will call you back soon.

Also they told me that DAT scores are all online now for the schools to see....and it doesnt take 2-3 weeks for the scores to get to the schools...which is great!

Okay ... I just called the ADA and the guy said the reports contain the scores for the first four attempts (he didn't check my file or anything). In any case, I think I'll call all of the schools I applied to individually to check 😕

oh no, i hope this isn't a usual occurrence 👎 that would totally ruin the whole point of retaking the test!

i also requested scores to be sent when i registered to take my DAT...i'm going to have to check with ADA to make sure they don't just resend my first test scores too!

So I'm taking mines for the 1st time 3 weeks from now, should I wait and see what my scores are first and then decide which schools I want my scores sent to (I already listed 5 schools since they are free)? Or should I list them all now before I take it? I'm not applying till June/July.

If you're not applying now, don't bother to send them to the schools. Most schools will not hold your application materials after this cycle is over.

do you not get an initial score report right after you take the test??? i mean since it is multiple-choice, i thought it would and should be done right after the test is over.
