Become standardized patient as a premed?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Sounds like fun... it will be nice to see medical education from the perspective of a standardized patient and how these sessions are run before you actually become a med student. If you have the time, I would give it a go.

Think it would be something cool to do in my gap year. Thoughts?
It's essentially an acting job that pays well after you're trained (and pays great if you are willing to undergo more intimate exams) and gives you the chance to give feedback to students on their performance. But you are unlikely to have a regular 40 hour work week.

It does not constitute "clinical experience" though (which I'm throwing in because I get asked that periodically).

Mickey Abbott: You gave me gonorrhea and you didn't even tell me!

Cosmo Kramer: I gave you gonorrhea because I thought you'd have fun with it!

Mickey Abbott: Well, you should have told me!

Great episode, thanks for the chuckle while grading. I remember him over-acting his part to an absurd extent. Probably a teachable moment about how not to be a standardized patient.

How do you think ADCOMS will view this specific experience?
