so i havent quite come out of the gates running..... but im planning on sending in my primary application tomorrow.... how long do you think it will be before 1) i'm processed 2) start getting secondaries? and how late am i really?? do most people get it in before aug.?
thanks in advance! and good luck with your apps and [possibly the worst part of the process] waiting on interviews!! :luck:

Well, it took about 3 weeks for them to receive my transcripts, and then another 3 weeks before I was processed and sent. I got my first secondary via email the day after my application was sent. Within a week I had 5 secondaries.

The same thing for me. I don't know about "most" people but I can say that SDNers certainly realize its best to get their application in ASAP. I wish I'd found SDN last year- lots of useful info here (as well as unuseful).
How are your stats? If they are good, I would think that you'll probably still get accepted. You are not as late as some people will be (like me my first time applying).

yeah, don't sweat it, submit your primary immediately. if alls well and you've already sent your transcript, you can be processed and sent out to schools in as little as 2 weeks, and you could have secondaries in your hand like 3 weeks from today. even worst case scenario would be like 5-6 weeks till you get them. if you turn those in right away and LOR's get in quick too, you could possibly have your files complete by mid September. Thats totally cool. The first round of interviews and decisions don't even come around til mid september through early october, you could easily make the next waves and be very competetive. It is definitely not too late, but every day that passes from here on out is precious, so get it done. Also, call Aacomas regularly till you're actually transmitted to the schools.

yeah - i already sent in the transcripts, they were received on monday, so those are in *fewf*
i have a GPA of 3.4, BCMP of 3.29, MCAT 11 [V], 9 , 8 [P] and am ready to send in the primary....
thank you all so much for your timelines 🙂 though i suck at the waiting game... hehe

right now, focus on the ps, try to turn it in by this Friday and I don't really see you being late at all in the process. August in my opinion is borderline late. I have had friends apply in September and get interviewed soon in Nov. so the time frame is not as rigorous. DO schools also tend to be not as rolling as one would think. Western for example is taking a preemptive strike towards getting more people to come because they didn't fill out last year.

I applied about this time last year (actually it might have even been a little later). I also took the Aug. MCAT......I started receiving secondaries around mid Oct. - mid Nov. and had all of those done within a week of receiving them.....started receiving interview invites in Dec. and had all my interviews in Jan.....I was accepted to the schools i got in to by Feb......My primary app. wasn't complete until almost the beginning of Oct. (with MCAT and everything else)......so believe me you have plenty of time.....I think the earlier the better but I think that as long as you have your stuff in by around Sept or Oct......you have just as good of a chance.....I think it's when you start getting closer to the app. deadlines that's when your starting to push it....just my two cents.

thank you guys so much! makes me feel ten times better. jtessier - what i wouldnt give to be in your shoes right now! acceptance in the bag, getting ready for the year to begin!!

Well Ames with any luck you will be soon enough....I'm sure you'll be just fine....if you have any other questions feel free to ask...

The problem about getting accepted is that all of us in some way are packing our homes. Or at least we should be. I am too lazy. It's gonna hit like a ton of bricks in a week and a half.
My AACOMAS was done mid July last year. I got secondaries in mid August. I returned them quickly and I interviewed the first week of October. I got my acceptance a week later for both of those schools. My stats were the same as yours, except you did a little better on the MCAT. There is hope!
