Is being complete in mid-September (with everything- AMCAS, LORs, and secondaries) late? If so how late? When are most people complete?
When do you think is the last date to be complete early (not by SDN standards)?

I tried to search for this but couldn't find much info on it besides apply and be compete early (of which I am trying to do).

Thanks!!

I wouldn't say that's late per se, but it's getting there. Most people on SDN seem to be complete in August. I would say anytime after October is late by any standard, but personally I'd be uncomfortable being complete after September. It's all relative really. If you have an average app, I would want to be complete in August to maximize my chances; for you, September or later might be "late." If you have an excellent app, you have a little more leeway (though, to be sure, you still might take a hit at schools with aggressive rolling admissions) and could probably get away with being complete in October.

Yes, mid-September is definitely late. I received more than half of my interviews by then.

Unless you have great numbers, apply early (July/Aug)

Thank you NickN., I was hoping you would reply.

I just graduated and I will be starting work in a prestigious place and I thought it would be wonderful if that could go in my experiences section of the AMCAS application. So that would mean I would have to turn in my AMCAS after August, and I don't know if it is worth it because I would have to apply late (complete in mid-Sept).
Or if I turn it in early without putting this experience in my AMCAS, I will be complete in mid-August. What do you think??

I would just list what you're supposed to be doing or what you expect to do and submit it earlier. Kiwi's point about getting interview invites by then is very true - I also received a significant number of interview invites by then. In the end I doubt that one activity will make all that much of a difference; if it does end up being important to you, you can always mention it in interviews.

Thank you kiwifruit. This gives me something to think about. If you don't mind me asking when were you complete and when did you receive your interviews?

I had my primary done June 8th, started receiving secondaries at the end of June, finished half my secondaries in July, the other half in August. Interviews were given out throughout August and September. The rest of the interview invites arrived closer to December, and a few more in March.
