Being put on interview hold

So far I have been put on interview hold at 3 schools so far--wondering if anyone has thoughts/experiences regarding what this could mean or what it might say about my application. Thanks in advance

If it's a low-yield school (e.g. GW), that means your application is literally on hold for possible II or re-evaluation. Depending on the year and competition, some ppl come of from that hold list as II, and some eventually gets rejected.

Your application is close to what they're looking for, without enough deficiencies to reject outright. At each committee meeting, your file will be re-evaluated and compared with more recent applicants as well as with others on hold.
