People have recently been saying to study a couple hours a day and this week I found out how helpful it actually is!! It reduces my stress level by a ton.

Is that the real secret to success? To study material way ahead of time?

😕😕 There's no secret, just hard work and motivation. It's whatever system gets you the learning and grades you want.

I mean if I consistently learn material and study, I'll have a deeper understanding of the material and perform better on exams right?

Yes, keeping up on material makes studying so much more efficient. You finally caught on, just as I did midway through last semester.

+ yes, it does lower stress levels compared to procrastination and cram-attempts.

Yes basically. It took me a year in college to realize this. Just get your work done as it's given to you and you'll be relaxed and laid back.

For the most part, I think people overcomplicate achieving success in college. There aren't magic formulas for most of the people who achieve great success. You just have to work hard enough to get the job done. What that is will depend on your intelligence, the school, the subject, and the professor.

Sure. Some people cram better than others, but for the most part you will want to be working a little bit every day towards learning. Do what works and feels good for you!

1) Pre-read before class 2) Take notes during class 3) Read notes and powerpoint after class 4) Rinse and repeat.

That is all there is to it and this is how the medical students do it more or less (know this from friends in medical school and SDN). I think I stated this a while back when you asked about how to study. Glad it has been working out for you. 😀
