Belmont University COP - Applicants for 2010

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
How much notice do they give you of your interview date? I got an email on 12-15 from Belmont that said my application was complete and was "to be reviewed in the next few weeks" but have not heard anything from them since...I'm getting really nervous. Does anyone know when the next interview date is? Does the invite come by email or regular mail?

I believe the next one is Feb 1st...at least they told me if I. Couldn't make the December date that was the next one. I think they gave 3 or 4 weeks notice but I don't remember exactly...I think it just depends on when they get your application because I remember they invited me very soon after they received it.

Yes, the next interview is feb. 1 and i'll be there. 🙂 I believe my application was complete the week of thanksgiving and they emailed my invite on dec. 3. The holidays is probably why they are taking longer.

My husband keeps telling me to calm down but it's really hard at this point! 🙂 I know my academic update is in progress with PharmCAS too. My grades have been put in and my transcripts for fall 09 are in transit, I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

@ MusicCityRX:

How is Belmont in terms of scholarships/grant money? Do they give out much, or do you use loans to pay for most/all of it? Will they meet your financial need? Thanks!

Mostly loans. If you have good incoming stats you may be awarded up to 10k in scholarships. There is a also a service award that one student gets that you can apply for before you start if you have volunteer experience. There may be other grants/scholarships also.

Yes, your financial need will be met. You should receive around 33k in federal loans and then you have the option of grad-plus loans for an additional 10k.

I applied to Belmont in January but they said they still in the process of reviewing. I've already had two interviews but Belmont is my first choice.

Hey everyone,

I'm a current student at Belmont, so if you have any questions about the interview process, the school, or nashville just let me know and I will do my best to give you an answer 🙂

Good luck to those who have interviews this Monday!

I have been accepted into Belmont but am still deciding between a couple of schools. I was hoping you could tell me a bit more about living in Nashville; stuff I couldn't get a feel for during the tour. What kinds of things do you do for fun when you aren't at school? Are there places people go out together regularly? As far as living, do many pharmacy students live close to campus and is it easy to get set up with them possibly? Thanks I would really appreciate your input! If you would rather answer via email just let me know and I can give you my email address 🙂

Hi everyone, I was wandering, has anyone heard back from Belmont University? If you did, when are their interview dates? I applied there and haven't herd from them as of yet.

Thanks

Hey, I applied to Belmont on 1/14/10, and I think last week or so they sent me a letter saying my PCAT score is missing ( I took the Jan PCAT, so they're still waiting for my scores).

When did you apply?

I got an interview for March 2nd. The next one after that is March 26th. I applied in late December and it took awhile for them to get back to me. They have interviews twice a month and I'm not sure when is their last one.

I interviewed March 2nd, this past Tuesday! It's my first choice too.

I did my undergrad in Nashville and I love it there. There are tons of places locally that we hung out, within walking distance of campus (I went to Vanderbilt). Lots of restaurants cater to the colleges, especially the ones nearby. Sunset Grill, for example, has half price menu and desserts after 11 p.m. I think and stays open really late. I'm in a small town now and the thing I miss the most is being able to do pretty much anything late at night. TPAC, or the performing arts center downtown, always has great performances, comedians, or shows. Zanies comedy club is very close to Belmont - I've seen Ralphie May, Jim Norton, Caroline Rhea, and several other good shows there.

My husband got a confirmation that his file was complete in early February - he got an email invite to interview on Feb. 25th for either March 2nd or March 26th. He had a test on March 2nd so he opted for March 26th.

The next interview dates are March 26 and April 30! Good luck 🙂

My application was marked complete the week of Thanksgiving and I didn't get my interview invite until January, after the holidays, via email. I interviewed on 3-2.

I just received my interview invite for April 30! It took three weeks from the last e-mail about reviewing my application, but I got it this morning. Anyone know what the entire day will be like? 🙂

Has anyone received the call from Belmont after the interview last Friday- 4/30?? I heard that they met yesterday so...they should be calling.... 😕

Cancel my previous 2 posts......................... I was accepted!!!!!!!!!!

I received a letter today telling me that I got accepted to Belmont. The problem is, Nashville suffered a flood.I wonder how hard it would be to find an apartment in Nashville during summer....hmmmm

I'm sure it didn't get all of Nashville, but the flood was pretty severe wasn't it?

The downtown area, Antioch, and any neighborhood along the Cumberland River is still very flooded. Most of Briley Parkway and the Opryland areas are still flooded as well. Northwest and west Nashville are probably the best areas right now.

I have been trying to find out what areas of Nashville was flooded but couldn't find anything useful. Thanks for the information.

Northwest and west Nashville? On the Belmont website, they do not recommend us to live on that part of town. Too much crimes there?

I got my acceptance letter today!!! Headed to Nashville! 🙂

Congrats!!!!

Isn't this odd? After the flood, there seems to be a correlation of more people getting pulled off the waitlist. Maybe I'm just thinking too much.
