i'm asking for a friend of mine who's in the process of interviews now. how likely is it to get accepted to specifically suny, neco, ico, and ucbso if her RC score is below 300 (9th percentile) but every other section above 300. GPA is around 3.3 or 3.4 ish. she was actually offered interviews to all these schools which i thought was awesome (why would they offer an interview if her scores / gpa weren't good enough), but she is really worried that she will be rejected after the interview or be asked to retake the oats. any feedback or advice?

What was her aa/ts?

Anyways, if they offered an interview, they want her. If she has an interview at 4 places, shes almost guaranteed to get in somewhere. They may ask her to retake the OAT, but I don't think she should be too worried about it now.

That's great that she got invited to interview at 4 schools. All she can do now is to focus her energy on doing well on those interviews...don't waste her energy on what if's.

Your friend's stats are really similar to mine. My GPA is around 3.3-3.4, and I scored 260 on RC and everything else above 300. (TS: 350/ AA: 340). I applied to ICO, NECO, SUNY, SCCO, UCBSO, and I have gotten interview invitations from all the schools except SCCO (SCCO wanted me to retake OAT because my RC score is not above 300). I went to ICO & SUNY interviews and got accepted, and I'll have an interview with UCBSO this Saturday.
Based on my experience, I think your friend's stats are fine. If she has solid grades, shadowing experiences, and does well on the interview, I think she will be okay. =)

oh nice minimeeeeee. congrats!

have u heard back from neco yet? or are you waiting on them? when was your interview?

NECO invited me for an interview but I cancelled it as soon as I found out that I got accepted to ICO. NECO was my last choice because of the high tuition..

The other posters answered your question well, but I'll throw in my experience just for the heck of it. I had an ok OAT score the first time I took it (AA 330), but my reading score was 290. I had heard from some classmates that anything under 300 was unacceptable, so I panicked and took the test again. I did end up doing a little better (340) the second time, but my reading went up to 320. At two of my interviews (ICO and IU) I was asked "why in the world would you retake the OAT when you had a 330?" I told them I wanted to increase the RC score, and they both told me that the first score would have been acceptable.

So, if your friend has interviews at those 4 places, I'm sure they're ok with the OAT score. Just my $.02
