Best Anatomy resources

So I’ve been trying to plan out what resources I’m going to use for my classes this fall, especially anatomy. Obviously Anki is going to be a major key but what are some other resources people use to do well? Are there any good premade Anatomy decks so I don’t spend so much time making cards? Also, a couple students at my school said that Acland is a good video resource so I plan on using that as well.

-Grey's anatomy review book (its a question book) is gold. I don't like memory without clinical connection so i loved this resource.
-Grey's anatomy book has online modules through the student consult system. I think it is one of the most slept on resources for anatomy, breaks things down in brief chunks to help organize the structures in your mind.
-Didn't use acland because my school records its dissections but if yours doesn't then yes Acland is good.

TeachMeAnatomy - Making Anatomy Simple
One of the most comprehensive concise resources I found. Used it for board prep and really helped. Wish I had known about it during anatomy course, this website has a few thousand questions in their bank to reinforce learning while going through the course/reviewing for boards.

Was just upgraded this past year and had the best video resources for anatomy that I found. HY nerves, vasculature, muscle, MSK injuries. It's all there and is very concise, no fluff and communicated extremely well.

- I do not anki, I would die of boredom lol but I'm sure reddit has great deck for anatomy.
-I'm referring to the grey's anatomy review book (its thin and only filled with questions no text).
- Student Consult is an online system that comes with the big grey's book that basically breaks down the book into modules with just the high yield info. I never actually read the big book. TeachMeAnatomy.com is basically the same thing and it's free though!

Look up Michigan's anatomy slides. They have interactive slides with cadaver images and I think questions as well. These were really helpful for me. I can post a link tomorrow if you can't find them.

All of the above are great recommendations. Here are a few i liked that haven’t been mentioned yet:

1) anatomyguy.com posts videos of all the Grants dissections. If you watch these before you do the dissection yourself, it will be much easier to know what you’re looking for. I usually watched on 1.5 or 2x speed.

2) Netters has premade flashcards with good pictures. You can buy them at Barnes and Noble.

3) Coloring books if none of the above are working. Also found at book stores or online. It’s a little time consuming, but I personally saw major gains in lab when I colored the dissections ahead of time. I’m very much a visual and kinesthetic learner, which is worth noting. I used the Princeton Anatomy coloring book.

Netter's flash cards are a great resource. Otherwise I used mostly my schools lecture material for the rest. Teachmeanatomy is also a great resource. Lastly, if your school has a traditional anatomy lab, that is where a lot of learning will take place as well.

If your school gives you access to PrepU (online question bank, basically), I would definitely use it. I probably did 2000 questions over my anatomy course and it was my main form of studying. It also ranks you at a level for each chapter from 1-8, and I was always motivated by making it to the next level.

I found 3D digital models really helpful, especially studying for practicals. I used Biodigital Human (its free!) but i know there are other options out there

Look at your medical schools textbook requirement and just study off of that one.

mnemonics will be your best friend in anatomy.

Some major topics I remember:

1.) brachial plexus
2.) cranial nerves (motor, sensory, or both)
3.) All of the fossas on the skull
4.) Landmarks (like when arteries change names, etc.)
5.) origins, insertion, actions, nerve and blood supply of all muscles
6.) So much more.....but look over big topics before small ones.

Anatomy is very much about seeing and doing. Spend the requisite time in the anatomy lab. It'll pay off. Outside of the lab, you can use Complete Anatomy - it's an excellent app for visualizing things and especially for muscle actions.
