hey,
I just got the Kaplan series books and Have been studying from them along with my notes (I am a second year student). Just wondering if anyone out there who got a good USMLE score could tell me if these books are good to study from. I've also heard of First Aid but I checked it out today and it is pretty basic...not very detailed information.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

I basically used FA with a hefty dose of HY books, because truly, the devil's in the details and HY is a "devilish" series.

so I agree with both of you rascals.

P.S. FA does appear "basic" at first but it WILL lull into a false sense of security, thinking you "know" the fine points in there. Don't be confused, it has a tremendous amount of information, many key details, and is not an easy read.

Second BF's thoughts with going through the FA with the grid. You'll see how much FA has culled details directly from the grid series.

Another thing to really focus on is doing questions; lots and lots of questions. I used the Board Simulator Series as my question bank and found in to be one of the best things I did to study.

The only HY that I used was Behavioral Science. What a handy book. You can read the whole thing in a couple of hours and really have it down. But beware, it leaks out the other side quickly!

I also agree that it is easy to get bogged down in FA. Don't get sucked into that trap! Good luck!
