What are the manuals you use when you conduct CBT? I still have some CME funds to burn and am looking to put them to good use.

Also, just a PGY-3 but I agree with the above regarding the Unified Protocol. It’s flexible and I’ve had a good experience using it with patients.

Another vote for the Treatments That Work series. Mastery of Your Anxiety and Panic by Barlow and Craske is essential.

Clinical Handbook of Psychological Disorders: A step by step treatment manual, edited by Barlow. Up to date epidemiological info, background, also details treatment data and usually goes through a treatment sample case. Or at least the older versions did this, the 6th Edition is coming out soon.

Treatments that Work are good guidelines, though they assume you have a good basis in the general modality. I have the PE stuff for the patient workbooks, I was also trained by Foa's people in PE, and if you haven't had formal training/supervision in it, there's a lot that you miss if you only have the manual to go on.

Would anyone mind PMing me and sharing how to access the treatments that work series as they seem helpful? My institution does not have access and I tried signing up through the few public libraries that are listed as having access but have had no luck.

They are all pretty inexpensive on Amazon. Do you get any CME $$$? You might even be able to get a used copy on eBay. They are worth holding on to for your career.
