My stats either 3.3 uw and 3.46 or 3.33 uw and 3.5 w by end of junior year. My SAT is 1560, 600 math, 510 reading, 450 writing. My EC are Key Club 4 years, Track and Field 3 years, SADD 2 years, Library Volunteer, and worker at APPNA Physician Conference, and Might do Lead American Health Care Conference this summer, but not 100% on that and plan on volunteering at my dad's hospital sometime soon. I had 3.1 uw and 3.25 w freshman year so tried to get a upward trend going. What colleges could I get into in Chicago for pre med? Could I get into Illinois Wesleyan University?? Also going to take SAT again in June. What are best colleges of chicago for pre med, rank em..

Dunno much about specifics for Illinois but there's no such thing as he best college for Pre med.

Usually it's a college that won't kill you academically. Also a college that is cheapest, and the closest to home.

Trust me.

And you're a competitive candidate at that university, WAY too expensive though

I wouldn't pay more than 10-12K on tuition and I will commute to save 50k

Go to Urbana Campaign.

I wouldn't say the OP is competitive at Urbana Champaign. It has very GPA oriented admissions and the OPs GPA is sub par. I know this because I'm considering applying but my GPA is too low I think. It's also pretty expensive for me (OOS).

Based on stats, and I am out of state if I go chicago, so also good in terms of not too much out of state tuition, and solid pre med and undergraduate program, what is best fit? Urbana Champaign looks like it is too out of reach for me.

Dunno I can't really answer that for you. Only you know what's the best fit.

I would go in state. I have a friend who got accepted to Brown, went there for a year, and transferred to Rutgers because of debt and distance from family of whom lives in NJ.

Don't let that be you.

I am a PA resident as well so just looking at schools in NorthEast not anywhere outside of it. Like schools in PA, NY, Chicago, Ohio, and Boston.

It has a Catholic affiliation, but have you checked out Loyola University? It has a lowish acceptance rate, but they are less GPA-oriented admissions. Plus there is an affiliated medical school which is always a plus.

Also check out University of Illinois at Chicago (It is easier to get into than Urbana Champagne). If I'm not mistaken they do tend to weed out premeds though, so be warned.

I am a senior who has applied to his undergraduate school and has accepted, but I live in the Chicago area. Based on your stats I would say UIC or Loyola would be reachable goals. Wesleyan is really small, but it is close to ISU. It's completely up to you though, do you like the city feel or the small town feel? I was accepted at Northwestern, but as you know their tuition is ridiculous and I received no money. I love the city feel that Northwestern had, yet it's situated in Evanston so it's still sort of a small town. So my recommendation is Loyola or UIC if you like big city and either Wesleyan or Bradley if you're into the small town feel. 🙂
