Hi guys,

I am starting my DAT prep and would like to know what DAT study guides/aids were the best for each section of the DAT?

What was the most helpful guide for the sciences and the PAT? Which aids were most accurate in terms of difficulty level equal to the actual DAT?

Thanks!

I thought the KAPLAN course helped me prepare for the PAT, with the exception of angle rankings. I got a 22 on the PAT, the ones I missed had to be the angle rankings. I didn't read all of the KAPLAN material on the sciences so I can not say that it does not prepare you well. I didn;t do so well on the sciences. KAPLAN definitely did not help on the quantitative reasoning. I did not do any other prep courses or study guides.

for the sciences nothing comes close to the DAT destroyer

Can someone suggest the most effective study aids for the quantitative reasoning and reading comprehension sections? I've heard that the math in particular is difficult.

from what i hear...it's destroyer.

I used both Kaplan and Barron books to see where I should focus my studying, but I used my own physiology/chemistry/biology/o.chem notes/text books to actually study the material. The study guides provide you with just that--a brief guide to what you should study. If you take the DAT with having just studied from study guides. you will be in for a big surprise.

not necessarily true..if you have a decent foundation (i.e majored in the sciences in university) then it's not an absolute must to pour over 500 page textbooks. kaplan does an excellent job covering what you need to know. combine with that a plethora of practise material and you should be fine.
