Best initial vs most accurate test

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Conrad Fischer's USMLE diagnostic test flashcard sets do a pretty decent job of outlining a lot of it. There are a lot of it and some are harder to wade through to find what you really want, but one time through and taking notes on the relevant ones should get you a large % plus of course MTB

On the real CK exam, do you actually get questions distinguishing between these two types of tests? On the IM shelf that I recently took I only recall questions asking what should be done next.

I like how this is my old thread from ages ago. Now I can answer my own question. The answer is NO. The 2CK only cares about "the next best step in management," and sometimes that is the most diagnostic/accurate test. MTB2 is annoying in that it frames things as best initial vs most diagnostic.
