Best job for a gap year

I personally am a tech in an emergency department. You obviously have to get certified first, but that is incredibly easy, it just takes a little bit of time. I have no idea how this job is viewed on an application but clinical experience is clinical experience, right? The pay is actually really good at my particular hospital, but I have heard this varies by location.

I'm not sure what you mean by they prefer males over females. Are you talking about the behavioral tech job? Anyway, as an ED tech we do a lot of vitals, IV's/blood draws, basic patient needs, urinary catheters, general wound care, EKG's, and if the patient is a trauma or code then we do blood control, CPR, or assist with any other procedures that the physician does like chest tubes, central lines, and various others. There is WAAY more to the job than this but these are some of the most common duties.

Haha we definitely do a lot of moving and carrying, but we are definitely not limited to that. Just look up the prices for getting your EMT where you live as some places are much more expensive than others. Also make sure that the local emergency departments hire ED techs as not all do.
