I'll be in Southern Cali all March and April and will end up taking my mcat there. Anyone can advise me of the best testing location for the MCAT?

Any school in Orange County, San Diego County, and LA County would be great.... thanks so much for your help everyone 😍

i enjoyed my testing location at University High School in Los Angeles/Santa Monica. Adequate desks and small groups in each class. However, a little warm for the august test. I hear USC was probably the best place in terms of facilities. But you can never really predict what experience you will personally have.

If you got into 4/5 of the Osteopathic schools you applied for, why are you taking the MCAT again?? 😕

To answer your question though:

As far as the L.A. area, USC is by far the best testing location. UCLA is the worst.

USC: only about 40 test takers in a room with long desks. Since you sit every other seat, you have PLENTY of desk room for your test booklet and answer sheet, pencils, etc. It's really a great testing site. 👍

UCLA: You're in an auditorium type room (for most of the test rooms). You have those fold up seats like the old movie theaters with a little tiny fold-up desk in front of you that is supposed to acccomdate all those papers. During my practice tests here, I would use my legs to put the test booklet at times. It sucks. 👎

DO NOT take it in Pomona!

I took it there last April and we had a scheduled blackout during the Bio section- Apparently, it wasn't the first time.

USC is the best location. Big tables, comfortable seats, good bathrooms, climate control. The proctors seemed to know what they were doing too, which is always a good thing. One bad thing is that you might have to suffer through a bunch of ******* Trojans talking about their football team, plus the UGLY red and yellow **** all over the place.

UCLA is the worst. Small tables, totally ill suited for MCAT. I love the school but don't take your MCAT there. You'll also probably pay up the ass for parking.

University High School has big tables, but the last time I was there, the bathroom facilities were horrifying. God help you if you ever need to drop anchor. (I attended high school there.)

Uc Irvine is pretty much exactly the same as the way people have described UCLA: big auditorium (though probably not as big as UCLA) and tiny fold-out desks. 👎

I only have experience with places in Orange County. I had a friend take it at UCI, and it is basically a big auditorium with small desks.

I took it at Irvine Valley College, it's about 4 miles away from UCI, and it was great. Normal sized desks. Small sized testing groups. Extremely comfortable. And their was a giant clock that was easily visible from any part of the classroom.

I would actually highly recommend taking it at IVC. Plus the proctors were quick. Started the test on time and finished by about 4 or 5. I've heard horror stories of the test extending all the way to 7.

as for san diego, avoid ucsd like the plague. it was ranked one of the worst testing places in the country (perhaps you should attempt to locate such rankings). sdsu was where i took mine and it was nice. i advise you to take it at a small school (aka not a uc). ive heard chapman was excellent, if youre more oc inclined

Being a UCLA grad myself...I agree with the Red and Yellow **** all over the place @ 'SC. Good place to test tho...

On a side note...I hope OU hands 'SC a beatdown today  Bruin faithful who's with me!!!
