It depends on who the people running the residency and department trained with (or which textbooks they edited/wrote/contributed to). We happen to be Nelson fans here, but there are a variety of other valuable resources (Zitelli's atlas, Oski's essentials, Hoekelman's pedatric primary care, and subspecialty books), as well as big textbooks. There have been multiple threads addressing this if you search.
