This is probably my weakest point, and most of our class powerpoints have a bunch of images w/o labels, so if you don't attend class, you're kinda lost (sometimes I have trouble telling which image is normal and which is the disease).

So, any resources out there I should check out? I'm aware of webpath, but any other books I should look out?

And does anyone know approx what % of the USMLE will be image based? I'm wondering how much time I should invest into this. Normally for my path exams in class, we get 10 image questions out of 70-80, and they're either really easy or impossible, so I don't really go over images unless I have time to spare.

thanks!

I don't know that you need more than Webpath, but if you want another resource, the Robbins Atlas is the best resource I have found. Not only are the pictures excellent, but the captions are also very concise and high yield. At $45 for 500 pages of color photos, this book is probably among the better investments I've made this year.

I don't know how many of the USMLE questions have images, but there is a pretty amusing part of Goljan where he talks about drinking with one of the question writers who tells him that only about 10% of the image questions actually require understanding the image to answer correctly; the rest can be gotten based on the history or other info. Dunno if that's still the case....

Based on what I've seen on Kaplan so far, I wouldn't be surprised.

I agree with Robbins Atlas, it has good pictures along with good captions. I also liked it for studying pathology for 2nd year coursework since it provides a good set of images that cover most everything.
