Ok, so I've read about how Walgreens has the profit sharing 401K but you're only able to put in 2-3% of the salary in it, Safeway has their pension plan and 401K... which company in the retail/grocery world seems to offer the best retirement plan?

My opinion....for what its worht which is so many mega or miga whatevers of bandwith....is you don't choose an employer for its retirement plan.

After all...you have to get vested - depending on your plan it could be from 3-10yrs.

Your 401K is always your own...but....you may decide to switch for reasons other than retirement.

You have to be able to survive day after day after day & your retirement contribution won't be worth it, unless you've put in at least enough to get vested.

After you've invested 5-7 yrs..then you can decide if staying is worth it.

I actually figured out that staying beyond 20 yrs did not benefit me other than to add years of service. So..I stayed 23....then I left.
