I'm going to be self-studying Orgo for the next 3 weeks. Already have the textbook, Second Language, and modeling kit.

What are some good online resources?

also consider organich chemistry book by klein. It's the best textbook i've ever had

Organic chemistry as a second language FTW

This times 1000x. Forget 2nd language which is also authored by klein and just get the book. You'll be glad you did.

Khan Academy on Youtube is great too, just to go over concepts that may have not been clear in class.

I second this. I wouldn't worry too much about learning how to solve a ton of problems but khan academy can help you become familiar with some of the concepts so you can hit the ground running when your class starts. I did this with o chem and am currently doing it for physics (cause I didn't have it in high school)

Khan only goes up until Orgo 1. It's pretty lacking in depth for everything though.

Klein is the way to go.

If your professor, like mine, sucks at explaining the conceptual basis of many key topics in Organic Chemistry, then Khan Academy will be your best friend. It's not a replacement for your textbook, but if you watch the videos before you read the text or go to lecture, it'll give you some great context that will make the subsequent learning easier.

Khan for a simple introduction. Klein, Chad's vids, Freelance Teacher, for a better understanding.

Khan Academy is crap.

Here's what an orgo professor/MIT grad has to say about KA:

Kind of like Japanese auto imports of the 1960s, the earlier version of KA’s organic chemistry “curriculum” was lightweight, ugly, and generally not up to standard.

Yeah, I mean, KA is definitely not going to help you master any orgo material. However, I do believe it to be a better introduction to brand new concepts than reading from a dry textbook.

A good introduction to factual errors. The same guy I quote has a running list of errors from KA. For example Khan seems to think that fluorine is a good leaving group, as opposed to say iodine or bromine.

Khan can't do orgo.

Also Khan pushes electrons around differently than anyone else in this world.

Khan doesn't push "electrons."

He pushes an electron - as in, one electron at a time.

???
