Guys I just wanted your opinion on what is the one best source for peeds in terms of Step 2 content:

1. Kaplan Peeds Lecture Notes
2. Blueprints Pediatrics
3. SUS2
4. First Aid
5. Other?

Your input will be appreciated.🙂

I used Kaplan + First Aid for peds. Had a relatively balanced exam with peds making up about 15-20% of questions and believe that combo was more than sufficient. I felt many of the questions dealing with children did not necessarily require peds specific knowledge and were more medicine/psych/ob/gyn related.

MTB had some high yield info and was good for quick review, but lacked sufficient detail to be used alone.

Didn't use Blueprints or SUS2 so can't comment.

Kaplan + First Aid +MTB(barely used it) got me an asterisk on my score report for peds.

Thanks. I guess thats the approach I should take. I am shooting for 260+ will this be enough for that? I had a 244 on step1 and I really want to beat my previous score.

Those sources in addition to UW should get you 260+ if you are able to get through them all. I used quite a few more sources than most, but ended up going from a 253 on Step 1 to a 284 on Step 2.

Review Sources:
Kaplan notes during 3rd year
First Aid for Peds and Ob/Gyn
MTB Step 2
SUTM
Uptodate for any discrepancies between sources
UW 2x
DIT Study Guide(a friend did the course, I just borrowed the book)

Reviewed all of it when studying for shelf exams 3rd year. Finished in May didn't look at any of it again until my dedicated 3 weeks off to study in October. Kaplan is a little much for a quick review, so I annotated important parts into First Aid/SUTM so I wouldn't have to look at it twice.

I killed all of my shelf exams and then destroyed Step 2. I highly recommend these sources for those that have time, but it is overkill for most.

My plan so far is to do all the kaplan lecture notes(along with vids) + Blueprints ob/gyn( i did it before for rotations) + Blueprints medicine + MTB 2 + UW. Does that sound enough to hit this thing out of the park? And will one month of dedicated prep be enough?

Those sources + 4 weeks study should be more than adequate to get a great score. Focus on UW and try to get through the difficult questions twice.
