What do you think is the best specialty for physician-scientists wanting to go into industry in the next 30 years?

I was just chatting with a dermatologist that mentioned derm is a really good option for MD/PhDs interested in industry. Said there's a huge market for MD/PhDs interested in clinical research for skin conditions. Good money too according to him.

In addition to the very good suggestions posted by the other posters, add ophthalmology, ortho ... and veterinary medicine.

Lots of research and big business money in those fields for physician-scientists (and veterinary-scientists, plus translational medicine issues).

Think about One Health opportunities (e.g., infectious diseases and Internal Medicine).
