best thing for me to do

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Nothing else to do - keep reviewing FA, do more UWORLD questions.

Review non-stop for about a week, do NBME at the end of that first week. After your first NBME, look for your weak areas and spend a week focusing solely on those weak areas.

Take another NBME. Regardless of what your grade is, after the results on that NBME, just keep reviewing non-stop.

TRY NOT TO FREAK OUT.

If you psych yourself out and go in there with low confidence and discouraged, you'll do a lot worse.

The more you review now (and review heavily), the more confident you'll feel going into the test. The more confident you feel, the better you will do.

Good luck!

Don't bother doing USMLE World questions right now with a week left.

Although it is the gold standard, it is not the material within that is necessarily helpful for you to pick up. Rather, it is the thought process and the test taking skills (World contains boatloads of "word games" and "confusing answers choices") that gets honed.

With what little time you have left, blast through First Aid 24/7, not reading what you have already read, but picking up minor little hidden details.

For example:

What bacteria is comorbid with bacterial vaginosis?

Yep hidden in First Aid in one line. Things like that

Not bacteroides, but some other anaerobe. Name escapes me. Look in the section on gardnerella.

edit: Got too curious. Mobiluncus.

Haha, thanks. I knew it was an anaerobe but the only ones we really ever learn about as Clostridium and Bacteroides (at least for Gm+). The weird name probably threw me off.
