I have been getting pretty bad grades lately. In gen chem I and II I managed to get C+. And same in Econ 101 and Physics I. And A's and B's in the rest of my classes. Now I am about to move on to my Organic chemistry I. What is the best way I can make sure I get A's or B's in my organic class? I feel that I work hard in class to get good grades but cannot seem to do well although our chemistry program is hard. Does anyone have any tips on how to improve my grades or make my application more competitive?

Maybe it's the way you study. Do you only read and study the text or notes? Or do you do a lot of practice problems. I used to mostly read over text and notes and do a few practice problems, but I found doing a lot of problems helped, especially for organic chemistry. Sometimes rewriting notes out can be more helpful than just reading them, which I think is the case for ochem. Going to office hours is also a good idea. And definitely try not to fall behind in ochem.
