Hello everyone!
I'm about to start studying for my OAT for two months so that I can take it in mid-August.

Right now, I have the huge KAPLAN OAT NOTES book and I have the OAT destroyer. I was wondering what method was the best in laying out their game plan. Should I spend alot of time just reading it all and then the last 2-3 weeks just taking practice tests? Did you think the kaplan lesson book prepare you well enough for the test?
Also, I took a practice test and did very poorly on the reading comprehension. What was the best method to attack that? Should i skim the paragraphs first and then look at the questions, or did some people just look straight at the questions and tried to look for the answers right away. I tend to not have a lot of time to finish the questions and ended up guessing.

Any advice whatsoever on how to make best of my two months would be greatly appreciated. Thank you everyone 🙂

I'm taking my test in a few days and I think what I got the most out of was doing the OAT Destroyer to help me pick out what I knew and I what I didn't know, and then after that I just did a lot of Kaplan practice tests and I feel like I'm ready.

I bought all of the Kaplan stuff and took the course, but looking back on it now I would have just bought the OAT Destroyer and that's it. I don't have the time to read the whole Kaplan Review book nor do I feel like it would help me learn. You learn the best by doing...so do problems!

And as for reading, I just did a lot of practice tests. There really is no other way but to practice and develop your own strategy. I take a few notes as I go along but definitely read the whole thing first.

hey thanks so much for the advice! I'm still wondering if I should go through the huge kaplan review notes because the prereq classes I took were years ago so I gotta refresh. Did you feel like you already had a good foundation before you studied for the test? I will definitely go through the Destroyer a few times. Oh, and Congratulations on the high scores! Those are very amazing even after they had tried to bring down the average. 🙂

This is just me; but I felt like I worked hard in the undergrad classes and that reading the review notes would take too long and not help me learn. I tried for the first few days but I ended up falling asleep. I feel like interactive learning/making mistakes/learning from them is the best way to go...hence practice problems.
