Hi there! I just realized that I've wasted money on two schools. The two Midwesterns. I was impressed by their OOS student numbers that I forgot to chech their pre-reqs. 4 credits of anatomy and another 4 for physiology. I would not be able to take those credits by the time I graduate and thus have decided not to waste any money on the secondaries. Just a heads up: check the pre-reqs before applying!

but classes like anatomy and physio just need to be completed before you matriculate... those classes USUALLY don't affect your interview/acceptances

that's correct but I don't have the time to take those classes. My plate is pretty full for fall and spring and I wouldn't want to take classes during the summer.

I mean not to be rude, but if that school is the only one that accepts you and you delay your application a year so you don't take 2 classes in the summer, I personally think that's a bad decision. Honestly, I don't have time for those courses either but still applied there just in case. Worst comes to worst, I'll take them at a CC so I don't have to worry about acing them but just passing. Just my thoughts and how I went about it.

You should call the schools and ask them about your particular case. For example, another pre-req they have is 3 (IL) and 4 (AZ) units of micro w/ lab. I have taken 2 micro classes, 3 units each, one in undergrad and one in graduate school, but neither class had a lab component. I was pretty mad that I might have to take a third micro course just to get the lab, so I called both schools to ask. They told me that 1. pre-reqs are evaluated on a per applicant basis and 2. because I have a Bachelor's in Molecular and Cell Biology, (and have sufficient total micro units for AZ) the lab portion of micro is waived. I was very surprised, and relieved, since I'd heard they are very strict with their pre-reqs, but never settle for what you hear. Find out for yourself and your situation.

I'm really confused. It seems like Midwestern AZ and Midwestern IL are different.

AZ wants 4 credits of anatomy with lab and 4 credits of physiology
IL wants 3 credits of anatomy with lab and 3 credits of physiology?

I only have 3 credits of anatomy without lab and 3 credits of physiology and I already graduated college. I dont have time this year to take any of the courses. What should I do?

I asked them about my anatomy credits in addition to my micro lab question. I took a 3-unit anatomy class WITH lab, and although AZ requires 4 units, she again told me that my 3-units are fine due my BA/MS. I just have to prove that there was in fact a lab portion.

I didn't take the lab with it though...

I got an interview even though i never took anatomy because our school didnt offer it

Didnt take anatomy or physiology yet. Going to be so screw if midwestern is my only option 😛
