Big Ten Schools

Does anybody know why most of the Big Ten schools have veterinary schools? Is it just coincidence?

Auburn, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Georgia, Florida and LSU!!

They're reasonably large schools and spread out among a bunch of states, most of which are states with a lot of agriculture. I don't think it's anything that odd or exciting. 😕

5/12 of the Big 12 schools do as well-lots of large, often land-grant state universities have vet schools, so its not really unusual or a concidence.
