Bilingual Pharmacists

Does anyone have any idea if pharmacists who can speak Spanish get paid anymore than regular pharmacists? Mind you, I'm not talking about Hola, como esta usted, but a pharmacist that can really speak Spanish and explain to patients about their medications in their own language. I would imagine that there would a large demand for this in areas such as So Cal and Phoenix. Anyone ever heard of anything like this?

I don't think you get paid any more. You may simply be considered a stronger candidate for available jobs.

As a P2, don't you have any work experience? Its fustrating to see pharmacy students worrying more about pay than than anything else.

For your answer, no. Not really, a lot of pharmacists are bi-linguals already as is. Any extra in pay would be negilable as other pharmacists have other factors that they can contribute.

I agree, I don't think the pay would necessarily be more, but I do think you'd be a stronger candidate for most jobs. (well, that is if the job involved communication. )

As a P2, I have plenty of work experience. It's "fustrating" (sic) see pharmacy students jump to conclusions about other persons' work experiences 🙄 I simply asked because that it was I've heard people say in my area.

So I know 3 languages...and for once, I wish I could be given extra-consideration for it!
I worked hard to became fluent in all.
Somehow I think you have to find a niche where those special skills are needed.
For instance, If you are sent to another country lets say...Miami or LA for example

Sorry, I would think that a p2 would know if bilingual pharmacists get paid more, especially since you said u have plenty of work experiences. No offense intented, i should have post in a better way. Was kinda grouchy due to exams and non stop quizs. Also sorta annoyed that most of the posts here has something to do with money as if money is all this profession is about.

This a pretty interesting question. There is such a thing as 'bilingual pay differential' in terms of salary, but I'm not sure how many pharmacies have this.
