Hello,

I emailed two schools I would be interested in, and they said Anatomy and Physiology I and II would satisfy the Bio prerequisites. Could anyone tell me....

1) Will taking these classes leave me less prepared for the DAT as opposed to General Biology I and II?
2) Any other reason(s) to not take A/P over Gen Bio?

Thanks!

1) http://www.ada.org/sections/educationAndCareers/pdfs/dat_examinee_guide.pdf Check page 40. Taking Anatomy and Phys definitely won't prepare you for the DAT. If your undergrad is decent, it should cover all those topics briefly.
2) IMO you shouldnt take A/P over Gen Bio , but rather take A/P on top of Gen Bio. I noticed more exposure to different topics, it helps you understand better on upper div courses.

If you can, take Gen Bio first and then AP. It will help your DAT and upper level bio classes.
