The frequency for the allele for CF, an autosomal recessive trait is 1 in 2500 among white Americans. What is the heterozgote freq.?

frequency for the allele - doesn't this mean q not q^2? Orgoman took it as q^2.

p+q = 1 ---- Allele Freq
p^2 + 2pq + q^2 = 1 --- population ferq

its an error on his part.

he did it correctly with the blue eyes a few problems before

the only thing I can think of he wanted to do something similar instead if you the genotype frequency. and make you apply both equations.

I agree for an allele it is q. For a trait it would be q^2.
