Hey guys,
Im using KBB to study for the bio section and im still doing poorly on the bio section. Im switching on and off with the cliffs ap biology book, but none of it is working!!😡 I still get lower scores and the questions they ask on the practice exams are more specific than the books!! Also, topics like the kreb cyle, do we really need to know every detail of it?

Any advice, tips, words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated!!👍

The biology section can be difficult because they the material is so broad and vast. Yes, they can ask you about any detail. I got a few very detailed and tricky biochemistry problems that I didn't expect and definitely did not learn in AP Bio, or gen bio in college (at least at my undergrad). Luckily I took biochem. The point is, they can ask you anything.

I know there is never enough material to know for bio, but I find it helpful to understand the questions not necessarily covered in the KBB or Cliff's Bio notes but simply deducing from what I know. so my recommendation is know every thing in Cliff and KBB then use your bio notes for what ever you cannot remember for reinforcement...like I always go back to what part of brain controls what activiites...everything related to Bones, and Plant biology specifically the dinstinctions about what belongs to which class? fortunately I ended up with good bio professors and they tatooed kerb cycle in my brain with all its reactant/product at each step and enzymes that controls it.

Also i have found this website pretty helpful to test my knowledge of cell bio....but if you have other question databases for bio classes that you took and still have acess to them then go ahead and test yourself.

I tested myself after finishing with KBB and Cliff and found it pretty helpful.

GOOD LUCK!!

I recommend rather than switching on and off with Cliff's, use it in its entirety. I found KBB's bio reading to be too generalized, and lacked detail. Cliff's AP Bio had the right level of detail without giving extra information not needed for the DAT exam. I used Cliff's almost exclusively for the bio section after finding that KBB's bio was not detailed enough.
