On the real DAT, alot of you are saying the Bio is pretty random. Is it random in the sense of classification of animals, because thats the only thing that I can think of where can pull out questions using names of animals I would have never thought to have imagined even existed. Any help on those who can give me a heads up on what to expect. Thanks alot.

I took the DAT yesterday and got a 22. The biology had very little taxonomy. I think that the randomness of it was the fact that the subject is so broad there is bound to be something that you don't know. I found though that even if you don't know the topic exactly using good test taking skills and picking up hints from the phrasing of questions or answers or the diagram shown will be helpful.

i think they also mean minute details of different concepts in biology. instead of asking the main idea question, some of the harder questions will ask a very small detail cuz if you know that small detail, you probably have a good understanding of the main point.

i didnt think bio on real dat was random at all. The questions were very straight forward and I knew the answers for all of them. The ones I missed are the ones that required critical thinking like experimental questions. I think if u know kaplan (or MCAT princeton bio) and destroyer you should be fine.

I agree with the above post. For the most part the questions were extremely straight forward. The randomness people are talking about I think is the questions that require you to analyze graphs, pictures, or an experiment. The questions to these type of questions are usually inference questions so there is no way that you could of come across these concepts on the test. Besides that the Bio on the test is not that bad at all. If you know your general and cell biology you should not have a problem.
