Specifically #191 2015 version

Since prokaryotes lack a few things: mitochondria, Golgi body, lysosome, endoplasmic reticulum. How can MITOCHONDRIA & CHLOROPLAST may have originated as a symbiotic prokaryote?

By the way, what symbiotic prokaryote mean?

The endosymbiotic theory explains that eukaryotes likely developed from prokaryotes. The theory basically says that organelles (such as mitochondria and chloroplasts) were once prokaryotic cells, and they were taken inside another cell as a endosymbiont.

Think about it...do mitochondria and chloroplasts contain their own organelles and a nucleus (similar to a eukaryote)? Of course not. Do they contain their own DNA? Yes, they actually do. Sounds kinda like a prokaryote to me!
