I've noticed that schools require about 8 semester credits in bio, including labs. I took Bio 1 with a lab and took Bio 2, but haven't taken the lab for it yet. I also came in with IB credit for a bio class and lab worth 4 credits. My question is, will I have to take the lab for bio 2? I have also taken anatomy, physiology, and micro bio (didn't take the lab for this either). Anatomy and physiology include labs, but do not show up separate on the transcript like the bio 1/2 labs and microbio. So right now I have like 22 biology related credits....Any input?

I was a Bio major in college, so naturally I was exempt from taking regular Biology 1 and Biology 2. In my school, we have a sequence of Mol cell bio, Mol cell Bio Lab, Botany, Botany Lab, and Animal physiology that are required and count towards medical/dental school biology requirements. So, in essence I think you will be more than fine with bio 1 + lab along with your anatomy and physiology and micro courses.

If you want to be on the safe side you can call each school to which you plan on applying and ask them about your bio sequence and if it is acceptable. GOOD LUCK! :luck:
