Biochem Pre-req Questions

hi,

Im planning out my senior years schedule for classes and am wondering if a biochem lab would fulfill the biochem requirement for most schools? Im at a quarter system university so i have to take two classes. Also, iam in a nutrition class that is a biochemistry nutrition class would this fulfill the requirement? Because looking at the AADSAS course guide it list nutrition under other sciences.

I'm on a quarter system too and most schools accepted 1 quarter class of biochem + lab (4 units total) except for Loma Linda, so only for this university I had to take two quarters of biochem + lab (8 units total). Biochem lab by itself will not fulfill the biochem requirement, you need the lecture portion. Not entirely sure about the biochem nutrition class, you'd need to ask the universities you're applying to that have a biochem requirement, AADSAS will not be much help.

I was on a quarter system, UC Irvine, and Loma Linda said initially that I would need to take more than my one Biochem class, and then once I told them that the following quarter was Molecular Bio, they said they would accept it, and I didn't end up needing to take any extra classes. I got waitlisted there (applied very late - November), and was told that if I had applied earlier I would have been accepted - so I'm guessing the biochem class wasn't a big deal? Just be sure to talk through the situation with the school, and get the person's name that you talked to.
